Sunday Symposium – Environment, Ecology and Climate Change: Where to now?

The challenges facing our world are immense. With carbon emissions still rising, evidence of climate change growing and extreme weather events forcing people to leave their homes for an uncertain journey, it is not a time to sit back.

Yet this constantly changing state of affairs does present some shoots of hope and possibility. From the exponential growth of green solutions to the power of protest, there is a clear path to limiting the damage. The question is how fast we can react and act. Clean and renewable energy may point the way forward but what else, as private citizens, can we do?

In what promises to be a fascinating and lively discussion, Éanna Ní Lamhna (biologist and author of Our Wild World), Eoghan Daltun (sculptor, farmer and author of An Irish Atlantic Rainforest), Dr. Olive Heffernan (scientist journalist, communicator & educator) and Harrison Gardner (co-founder of Common Knowledge and author of Build Your Own) explore the challenges and opportunities that surround us as they grapple with the question: where to now?
