Cónal Creedon is a novelist, playwright, and documentary film maker. His fiction has been translated into Bulgarian, German, Austrian, Italian – with extracts published in China.
His books include – Pancho and Lefty Ride Out, The Secons City Trilogy, The Immortal Deed of Michael O’Leary and Passion Play, which was cited as BOOK OF THE YEAR – BBC Radio 4.
His stage plays have been commissioned by the Irish National Millennium Celebrations, The Irish Arts Council and The European Capital of Culture and have been awarded two Irish National Business2Arts Awards & nominated for The Irish Times Theatre Awards.
Cónal’s plays represented Ireland at World Expo China, received rave reviews from the Shanghai theatre critics – subsequently produced in New York, to high critical acclaim in the New York Times and New Yorker Magazine. His plays went on to be awarded Best Director, Best Actor and Cónal was nominated Best Playwright at the 1st Irish New York Theatre Festival.
Cónal’s film documentaries have been broadcast on television, and had many public screenings including at the Irish Pavilion World Expo Shanghai China. He has written extensively for radio including RTÉ, BBC 4 and BBC World Service.
