Patrick deWitt is the internationally acclaimed author of Ablutions, The Sisters Brothers, Undermajordomo Minor, and his most recent novel French Exit.
Both The Sisters Brothers and French Exit have been released as movies, the latter produced by Sony Pictures in 2020 directed by Azazel Jacobs and starring Michelle Pfeiffer as Frances Price. Born in British Columbia, DeWitt now resides in Portland, Oregon. He will discuss French Exit and the theme of migration in his work, with Ennis Bookclub Festival Artistic Director, Dani Gill.
“His writing is as buoyantly insane as its characters, DeWitt is a stealth absurdist, with a flair for dressing up rhyme as reason.”– The New Yorker
“My favourite book of his yet. The dialogue is dizzyingly good, the world so weird and fresh. A triumph from a writer truly in the zone.”– Maria Semple, author of Where’d You Go, Bernadette.
