Ruth Gilligan is a novelist from Dublin now based in the UK where she works as a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Birmingham.
She has published four novels to date and was the youngest person ever to top the Irish Bestsellers’ List. Her fifth novel, The Butchers, is set during the 1996 BSE crisis and will be published in March 2020. Ruth writes regular reviews for the Times Literary Supplement, Guardian and Irish Independent. She is an ambassador for the global storytelling charity Narrative 4.
