Join Sinéad Gleeson and her panel as they discuss the phenomenon of omission and silence in Irish writing, and the emergence and recognition of Irish women writers in particular. Sinéad Gleeson is an author, editor and broadcaster. Her short story anthologies The Long Gaze Back and The Glass Shore have both won Best Irish Published Book at the Irish Book Awards. Éilís Ní Dhuibhne has written several collections of short stories, many novels, books for children, and plays for stage and radio. In 2015, she was awarded the Irish Pen Award for an Outstanding Contribution to Irish Literature. Anne Devlin is an award-winning short story writer, playwright and screenwriter. Her screenplays for film include Wuthering Heights, Vigo and Titanic Town. She lives in Belfast. Eimear Ryan’s writing has recently appeared in Winter Papers, The Dublin Review, The Long Gaze Back and Granta.com. She is co-editor of the literary journal Banshee. She lives in Cork.
