Children’s Book Club Event – Shane Hegarty in conversation with Sarah Moore Fitzgerald

Shane Hegarty has been shortlisted for many awards for his books. Boot, about a small, round robot who wakes up one day in a junkyard with just two and a half memories to his name, was shortlisted for the Sainsbury’s Book Award, nominated for the An Post Irish Book Awards and chosen as UNESCO Dublin City Of Literature Citywide Read.
Darkmouth introduces us to Finn who has been born into a line of Legend Hunters and is unlucky enough to live in the one place that Legends still attack. It was nominated for the Waterstones Prize, the Post Irish Book Awards and the Bord Gáis Irish Book Awards. His latest picture book, The One and Only You, is published in March. Shane will be in conversation with writer Sarah Moore Fitzgerald.
The winning entries from the Ennis Book Club Festival schools’ writing competition will also be read. This competition was hosted in conjunction with the annual schools’ Book Club series hosted by Sarah Moore Fitzgerald and Supported by Creative Ireland.
