In Cathy Sweeney’s debut novel Breakdown, a woman rebels against traditional roles and expectations, and walks away from her life one morning. With a solitary purpose of mind, she wanders through a series of unexpected moments and days, searching for a way to re-emerge as herself. All these books contain surprises and keen explorations of lives upended by circumstance and accident. This should be an enthralling discussion.
