Rónán Hession in conversation with Neil Hegarty

Rónán Hession is an Irish writer based in Dublin. His debut novel Leonard and Hungry Paul was published by Bluemoose Books in 2019 and The Sunday Times chose it as one of the 50 great Irish novels of the century. It was selected as the 2021 One Dublin One Book by Dublin UNESCO City of Literature. As Mumblin’ Deaf Ro, Rónán has released three albums of storytelling songs. His second novel Panenka was published in 2021 and was shortlisted for Novel of the Year at the An Post Irish Book Awards.
His third novel, Ghost Mountain, came out in 2024 and has been met with great critical acclaim. It opens with a seismic event: the sudden, unexplained appearance of a mountain on the edge of an unremarkable town. Its impact on the town and its people slowly grows, in fresh and surprising ways. A tapestry of interconnected vignettes told with humour and charm, the novel goes further than this and throws a deep emotional punch at the reader.
Rónán will be in the company of writer Neil Hegarty (Inch Levels) in what promises to be an enriching conversation.
