Alex Dunne’s first children’s novel, The Book of Secrets, was published by The O’Brien Press in 2022 and went on to win the Eilís Dillon Award at the 2023 KPMG Children’s Book Ireland Awards. A follow-up novel, The Harp of Power, was published in 2023. Her new book is Small Magics and in this event she’ll discuss the power of magic and adventure in her books.

This event will be moderated by Judi Curtin bestselling author of more than thirty books for adults and children, including The Alice and Megan series and The Lily at Lissadell series. Her book, Stand By Me, won an Irish Book Award in 2017.

Prizes for the winning entries in the Ennis Book Club Festival schools’ writing competition will be presented. This competition was hosted in conjunction with the annual schools’ Book Club series hosted by Sarah Moore Fitzgerald and Supported by Creative Ireland. Due to a scheduling conflict Sarah cannot attend the event.
