Clare-based Writers – Karen Fitzgibbon, Joe Queally & Michael McTigue in conversation with Diarmuid de Faoite

The festival looks forward to sharing the work of our locally-based writers in this event moderated by actor and writer Diarmuid de Faoite.

Never Look Back by Karen Fitzgibbon begins when a young mother, Clara, vanishes from Colbert train station, leaving behind a new-born baby. A tangled web of secrets, deception, and danger follows.

Joe Queally has earned distinction for his approach to the writing of locally-based historical narratives. Tragedies of Clare includes stories relating to the Land War and the years around the Easter Rising.

Dust, Dirt & Politics is the memoir of Kilnamona sculptor Michael McTigue. His work is to be seen all around: from the Michael Cusack statue at Cusack Park to the Muhammad Ali plaque at the Turnpike in Ennis.

Diarmuid de Faoite will also read from his new book of translations, Pádraic Ó Conaire- Scothscéalta/Best Stories.
